Mekong Air ist der neue Qualitäts-Carrier in Vietnam, der mit modernem Fluggerät und gutem Service von der Basis Ho Chi Minh City an den Start geht.
Die ersten Flüge wurden am 28. Dezember 2013 von Ho Chi Minh City nach Siem Reap und Vientiane sowie von Bangkok Suvarnabhumi und Singapore Changi nach Ho Chi Minh City durchgeführt.
Am selben Tag wurde auch der Shuttle zwischen Ho Chi Minh City und Hanoi gestartet.
